Spend your first few days taking in the excitement of the Niseko slopes and making waves on the mountain tops as you ski in style. Then get ready to explore the vibrant cities of Japan as you travel through Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo, discovering a fascinating history and culture along the way.
Upon arrival into Japan, you take a short flight up to Chitose, located on the north island before being transferred to the ski region of Niseko. Here you will settle into your accommodation and enjoy a good night’s sleep. Comprised of four resorts on one mountain, Niseko offers an experience for all levels of skier. Ski on some of the driest, lightest powder in the world for three days or extend your time on the slopes if you wish.
Returning to Chitose you will board a plane for the short flight to Osaka. From here you will be met and driven onwards to Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan. Take in the ancient city of Kyoto, See the Kinkaku-ji (The Golden Pavilion) or the Ginkaku-ji (The Silver Pavilion) or a little spiritual adventure into the Ryuan-ji temple. Visit the Kiyomizu-Dera temple located halfway up Ottawa Mountain and see the ‘Eleven Headed and Thousand Armed Kannon Bodhisattva’ before catching the bullet train from Kyoto station.
Experience the Tsukiji fish market or take a trip to the Imperial Meiji Shrine, dedicated to the spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife. Relax in Yoyogi Park and make sure you see the Harajuku girls. After a relaxing breakfast on your final day, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Narita International Airport in time for your flight.
Seven Stars Cruise Train
A CLOSELY GUARDED SECRETPowder Byrne invites you to experience the Cruise Train Seven Stars in Kyushu, the most exclusive and breathtaking rail journey in Japan. The 7 prefectures of Kyushu are connected by 3,000 km of tracks and a journey on the Cruise Train unfurls across them. A truly unique locomotive, launched in 2013 at a cost of over £20 million, no expense has been spared in creating the most luxurious environment, with a total capacity of only 30 passengers. Accompanied by your own English speaking local guide, sit back and relax as Kyushu’s alluring landscape slides past through panoramic windows.
On day one you will arrive at the Hotel Nikko Fukuoka, a 4-star international class hotel, just a short walk to Hakata Station and known as the gateway to Kyushu. Your English speaking local guide will meet you at the hotel and accompany you to the fine dining restaurant Canoviano Fukuoka for a welcome dinner and introduction to the city of Fukuoka and the island of Kyushu.
After breakfast in the hotel you will head to Hakata Station for a welcome ceremony in the Kinsei Lounge. Boarding the Seven Stars in Kyushu and departing Hakata Station you will make for Moji Port, with its atmosphere of history and high adventure, and architectural structures from the Meiji and Taisho periods. At dinner, savour an exquisite menu of Kyushu cuisine aboard the Seven Stars in Kyushu before settling down to relax and sleep in your luxury carriage.
When morning arrives you will find the train has arrived at Aso Station. Step off the Seven Stars in Kyushu and enjoy the early morning scenery of Aso, having a relaxed breakfast at the platform restaurant ‘Mars’, featuring dishes made with fresh vegetables grown with care in Aso. In the afternoon you will head towards Yufain, Kyushu’s leading onsen (hot spring) resort, where you will spend the night in a traditional Japanese ryokan.
After a relaxing breakfast at the ryokans, travel by private coach from Yufuin to Beppu Station. Between Beppu and Miyazaki stations, you will relax and enjoy the nature and scenery of the southern country, with its endless blue sky and ocean and the forests and valleys of the interior. In the late afternoon the Seven Stars in Kyushu will continue onto Kagoshima-huo Station where you will spend the night aboard the train and enjoy an evening of fine dining made with the freshest ingredients in Kyushu.
On the final morning of your Seven Stars in Kyushu adventure you will depart Kagoshima-Chuo en route to Hitoyoshi Station for a sightseeing excursion and Bento-style lunch. In the afternoon you will depart for the final leg of your journey through loop lines and switchbacks taking in the beautiful Kyushu scenery for the last time before you arrive back to where it all began at Hakata Station for a farewell event to celebrate your experience aboard the Seven Stars in Kyushu.

Infamous for the atomic bomb attack in WWII, Hiroshima is a popular city with tourists who come to visit the site and pay their respects at the Peace Memorial Park. Aside from its historical significance, Hiroshima is also well known for its shopping and leisure activities.
The Heart of the Kansai region, Osaka is well known for its westernized vibe as well as its traditional landmarks such as Osaka Castle. For a fun family day out be sure to visit the Universal Studios Japan park.

This unique opportunity ups the thrill factor as you make your way to untouched parts of the mountain via helicopter. These off piste runs are for the more adventurous and experienced skiers, but that’s not to say any little ones can’t enjoy a ride in the helicopter!
Make your way around the mountains at high speed and feel the adrenaline as you reach new peaks and discover different areas of the Niseko resort.
Another fantastic way to reach untouched peaks is by travelling with your guide via Snowcat. These impressive vehicles will get you to the finest skiing areas and provide fantastic views from the mountain.
A fun activity for those of all ages, enjoy sledging down the mountains as you race your friends through the snow. To add a bit more excitement you can try sledging at night and take in the beautiful scenes of the lit up surrounding town.
