ENJOY OUR RANGE OF EXCLUSIVE SKI RESORTS
The tiny hamlet of Zurs packs quite a punch, with beautiful scenery, access to one of the largest skiing areas in Austria and a wonderful alpine atmosphere. Its super snowy microclimate and high altitude means you can enjoy this exclusive resort throughout the whole season. All the hotels are within easy walking distance of the lifts, most with ski-in/ski-out convenience, and with Lech only a short distance away you can experience all the fabulous restaurants and bars in the locality.
THE RESORT
Zurs Skiing
FUN ON THE SLOPES FOR EVERY LEVELZurs is part of the world-famous Arlberg region, where the sport of downhill skiing as we know it today was first developed. Renowned for its champion skiers, quality snow, endless runs and over 284km of pistes there is plenty to keep you busy. We highly recommend Red 10 as one of the best runs in the resort; it’s long and challenging and on a clear day you get some absolutely amazing views. Since 2015 Zurs has been directly connected to St Anton via the Flexenbahn gondola, making this the perfect base to discover one of the snowiest corners of the Alps. For the adventurous skier, there are lots of opportunities for skiing off-piste and exploring the mountain on ski routes.
Zurs Highlights
ACTIVITIES AND GASTRONOMYWe have hand-picked some of our favourite things to do and places to eat that we have discovered throughout our many years working in Zurs. Our client concierge team will be happy to make reservations and give additional recommendations for you. You’ll find our top picks below.
The Rodelalm and Rodelstall are rustic old mountain huts, which serve Tyrolean classics with a lively atmosphere on the side. The Alm is a great spot for hearty lunches on the sunny terrace with a fine wine cellar and the Stall is particularly popular on Tuesday and Thursday evenings when there’s night-time tobogganing.
The classic spa at the Zurserhof Hotel offers saunas, whirlpools, plunge pool, snow pools and more. There couldn’t be a more perfect spot to rejuvenate your tired muscles after a day on the slopes.
With awe-inspiring views at the top, you can see the mountain peaks of five different countries on a clear day. The final cable car to the top, the Valluga Bahn II, only has room for five adults and has incredible views. Experienced skiers can head down the north face, and those who prefer an easier life can take the cable car back down and enjoy a hot chocolate at the restaurant.
This award-winning restaurant is located at the summit of the Galzig cable car and offers up gastronomic delights in a relaxed setting. Choose from Austrian specialities such as schnitzel or a classic bouillabaisse, one of the most talked about dishes on the menu. For an extra special experience, ride the Galzig cable car on a Thursday evening for a candlelight dinner accompanied by piano music.
The Arlberg is the only region in Austria that allows you to heli-ski. Escape the crowds with an experienced guide and find yourself immersed in sensational terrains and powder snow. The Mehlsack plateau is best suited to the most experienced skiers, whilst Schneetäli-Orgelscharte is best suited to intermediate skiers.
