Grindelwald, Switzerland

Grindelwald offers stunning views from both the resort and the slopes, making it one of the most picturesque destinations in Switzerland. Nestled beneath the towering north face of the Eiger, this traditional Swiss village has been a favourite since Powder Byrne’s first ski programmes in 1985.

A Picturesque Swiss Resort

This famous Powder Byrne resort has undergone significant investment, including better access for our ski programmes with the V-cableway project. Additionally, the opening of the Eigerexpress has reduced travel time to get to the Eiger Glacier station, maximising skiing (or hot chocolate) time for our guiding groups.

Ski Area

Ski holidays in Grindelwald cater to families and skiers of all abilities, with a diverse range of slopes spanning 213km giving access through the Grindelwald, Wengen and Murren.

Novices and families will appreciate the designated ‘Bodmi’ beginners’ ski area and the ‘First Mountain side, while intermediate and advanced skiers will find extensive terrain to explore. Off-piste and itinerary routes abound for advanced skiers, including the thrilling Black Rock piste and the vertiginous Kanonenrohr run in Murren.

The infamous Lauberhorn World Cup downhill ski run presents a formidable challenge and is a must for any skier’s bucket list in Switzerland. For those seeking perfect snow conditions and breathtaking views, the ‘Eiger Nordface’ run is a must-try.
