Ski Guide & Host

This role is key to providing the excellent service that we are renowned for. It is an extremely rewarding role, a great opportunity to ski whilst gaining valuable work experience.

All Powder Byrne adult guests are offered an exclusive, personalised ski guiding service. As a Ski Host you will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable ski guiding day for all levels of skiers (on piste only).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ski-guiding groups of adults
  • Booking mountain restaurants and liaising with Powder Byrne’s local suppliers
  • Providing excellent local knowledge of the ski area, weather/snow conditions and the resort (including restaurants)
  • Assisting the team with Children’s Club sign-ins at hotel boot rooms
  • Evening client visits providing daily feedback
  • Assisting with ski hire/transfer day/airport transfers (if required)
Requirements:
  • Strong ski ability (min 20 weeks) confident on all runs
  • Relevant resort experience
  • Full Clean Driving license (desirable)
  • 21 years or above (desirable)
  • Adaptable resourceful, patient and diplomatic with a professional and positive attitude
  • Excellent guest relations and customer service skills
  • Strong Team player with good organisational skills and excellent time management
  • Good understanding of the safety issues involved with skiing and supervising children
  • Languages: German (desirable)
  • UK or EU Passport
  • Appropriate number of Schengen Area (EU) travel allocation days to complete contracted dates(UK passport holders can only travel to the area for 90 days every 180 days)
Dates:

Winter season peak weeks (Christmas/New Year, February Half Term & Easter)

Package:

Accommodation, return travel to resort, uniform, winter sports travel insurance, technical ski kit, ski and boot hire, ski pass, comprehensive pre-season training course, competitive salary.

Introduce A Friend Referral Programme

If you have previously worked for Powder Byrne and know someone with the right skills and attitude to join our resorts, you could receive £100* for the introduction. Additionally, you could earn £150* by referring a Resort Driver who completes a successful contract with Powder Byrne. Terms and conditions apply.

All you need to do:

  • Introduce a new friend via email, or your friend must mention that you have referred them.
  • Your friend must be offered and accept a role with Powder Byrne.
  • Your friend must complete their training and contract to the Powder Byrne standard.
  • You will receive your reward at the end of the season.

Terms, Conditions, Eligibility & Exclusions apply: Only applies to new referees unknown to Powder Byrne. A referee can only be referred by one person and must work for Powder Byrne within 6 months of being referred. Referrers must have worked for Powder Byrne previously. Powder Byrne decides what the ‘Powder Byrne standard’ is. Excludes anyone working in the Powder Byrne office roles. Powder Byrne can amend the terms, conditions, eligibility and exclusions at any time, including withdrawing this offer.
