The Wild Coast Lodge offers an extremely unique location for guests, allowing the experience of both the jungle and the beach within one setting. The lodge is located on the southernmost point of Sri Lanka, just a short 10 minute drive away from the Yala National Park.
The uniquely shaped tents, labelled 'cocoons' or 'urchins' represent five star lodgings under canvas complete with air conditioning. Colonial and contemporary stylings are fused together to create luxury surroundings, and rooms feature four-poster beds and handmade copper bathtubs.
Cocoon Pool Suites
Four cocoon suites with king size beds, located in the seclusion of the beachfront, also have their own private plunge pools.
Yala National Park
Sri Lanka's second biggest national park is located a mere 10 minute drive away, while viewing platforms overlooking local watering holes allow an insight into the natural surroundings of the lodge. Yala National Park is home to 44 different varieties of mammal and over 200 species of bird.
Gourmet Safari Cuisine
The cuisine takes inspiration from local food with a modern twist. Dinner can be served fresh from the tandoori oven with rotisserie meats, and is a unique affair based on the freshness of the local produce. The restaurant is located in a pavilion on the beach, offering great sunset view.
Conservation and the Environment
The lodge is under the process of building a conservation centre, and uses recycled ocean water to supply the watering holes. Organic waste is composted on site and the Lodge focuses on being as self-reliant as it can. The spa facility uses native Sri Lankan ingredients, such as Ceylon Cinnamon and Ceylon Tea.
