Depart from Hakata Station
Once you depart from Hakata Station, you’ll make for Moji Port, with its atmosphere of history and high adventure. After touring Mojiko Station, it’s off to Yanagigaura in Oita Prefecture. From there, take a private bus to Usa Jingu Shrine, the head shrine of the Hachiman shrines throughout Japan and the home of many national treasures and important cultural properties. At dinner, savour French cuisine aboard the Seven Stars.
Aso & the Oita prefecture
After enjoying the early morning scenery of Aso, have breakfast at the platform restaurant “Mars,” featuring dishes made with fresh vegetables grown with care in Aso. Stroll through Aso and the streets of Bungotaketa in Oita Prefecture, then spend the night at Yufuin. Relax at one of Kyushu’s outstanding traditional ryokans: Yufuin Tamanoyu, Kamenoi Bessou, or Sansou Murata.
Aoshima Shrine in Miyazaki
After having breakfast at the ryokans, travel by private bus from Yufuin to Beppu Station. Between Beppu and Miyazaki stations, enjoy the scenery of the southern country, with its endless sky and ocean. In Miyazaki, you’ll visit Aoshima Shrine, the stage of a myth. For dinner, savor “Satsuma French” cuisine made with ingredients from Kyushu on the Seven Stars.
The Hisatsu Line
Have breakfast on the Seven Stars. On the final day, you’ll travel on the Hisatsu Line, where you can enjoy your railway journey to the fullest. You’ll see beautiful scenery that’s considered one of Japan’s three best “train window views,” and will be taken through loop lines and switchbacks. In addition, you’ll stop by historic train stations. At the end of your journey, a farewell event will be held on the train. Then it’s on to Hakata, the final stop on the tour.
