Essential Iceland

Essential Iceland is a popular itinerary at Easter and in the October Half Term school holidays. A 5-day adventure-packed itinerary that showcases the essential must-see's of Iceland, starting in the world-renowned Blue Lagoon. Travel onwards to experience The Golden Circle as you visit Glaciers, Waterfalls and Geysers.

Your Iceland adventure will start at the world-renowned blue lagoon. This unique spa features an outdoor lagoon filled with geothermal hot water whose active ingredients (namely: natural mineral salts, white silica and blue-green algae) are known for providing visitors with an unforgettable bathing experience.

In this tour you’ll start by seeing the Hraunfossar waterfall pouring through the lava field into the Hvítá, and the cascades of Barnafoss. Your next stop will be the historical Reykholt, before returning via Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful geothermal spring. To top things off you'll then make your way to the heart of a glacier for an exciting and truly unique tour.

During this trip you’ll visit the charming local town of Vík í Mýrdal and two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls; Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. The next stop will be Dyrhólaey; a 120-metre high rock inhabited by numerous types of birds, including puffins. The final landmark visit will be the Sólheimajökull glacier tongue where you will get the chance to observe this amazing natural sight.

Declared a nature served in 1929, Þórsmörk (Thorsmörk) is one of Iceland’s most beautiful areas. It lies in a protected valley closed in by three glaciers making vegetation thrive and the climate different from most other places in Iceland. The tour will include a trip to Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Gígjökull glacier and Nauthúsagil canyon.

Inside The Volcano

This unique volcano tour, takes you literally inside a dormant volcano, through the top crater and to the bottom of its magma chamber. After hiking 2,7km through the lava field, participants will descend 120m(400ft) through the top crater and down to the ground floor of the magma chamber, accompanied by experienced and specially trained guides. An open elevator system is used in the operation, transporting participants up and down the chamber in a cable lift.

Snowmobile Tour

Upon arrival your certified glacier guide will provide you with all the snowmobile gear needed for the tour, ensuring that you will stay safe and warm during your 1-hour snowmobile ride. Your guide will go over how to safely operate the snowmobile before you head off on your breathtaking tour of the glacier.
