The Detail

Situated in 10 acres of tropical rainforest, Pacuare Lodge is the perfect tropical treetop retreat. There is plenty to do from pampering yourself to adventurous outdoor activities and unique dining experiences.

There are only 20 suites within Pacuare Lodge, some with private suspension bridges and small stone swimming pools. All suites at the lodge included a private terrace with hammock, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Views face the landscaped gardens or the Pacuare River.

With the option to arrive in style at the lodge, via white-water raft (there are also jeeps for the fainter-hearted) the lodge offers boundless opportunities for advenutre. Other activities include jungle hikes, canyoneering, kayaking and canopy tours

The Lodge has an organic farm off-site, providing an authentic Costa Rican farm-to-table culinary experience. With the option to eat dinner in the Nest, a 60-feet high hanging platform, or dine by the river, there is an experience for everyone. The menu is constantly evolving but retains traditional Costa Rican roots.

The lodge prides itself on its commitment to sustainability, running environmental programmes for local communities. There is no electricity outside of the central lodge, and at night time the resort is lit by candlelight making for a picturesque, romantic scene. The little electricity that is used is generated from a turbine in a nearby stream. Construction of the lodge used natural building materials from reforestation project and even the spa incorporates natural rainforest resources.
