Friday 11th March - Sunday 13th March 2011

Powder Byrne are delighted to announce Eton College as the winners of the inaugural Powder Byrne Schools 6 Nations Tournament, hosted by London Scottish FC.

This spectacular three day event saw the cream of schools boys rugby converge on The Richmond Athletic Ground all fighting for the right to be crowned Schools 6 Nations Champions 2011.

The honour was to fall to Eton College after a thrilling    31 - 24 win over their local rivals St.Pauls in the final. Eton began their campaign on the Friday with a win over Portora Royal School from Ireland and remained unbeaten going into the final, as were St.Pauls who had seen off the formidable Lycee De Borda from Dax, France in their Cup Semi Final.

The Final match was played in front of a packed grandstand with neither side willing to give an inch. With less than a minute to go and the scores locked at 24 all, a brilliantly patient Eton unlocked the St.Pauls defence to score a well deserved try and secure their place as Champions.

In this the first year of the tournament we were delighted to have welcomed schools from across Europe and were especially pleased by the atmosphere and spirit in which all the matches were played.

With all 2011's attendees eager to return and new schools lining up to get involved London Scottish have already begun the process of setting the dates for 2012's Powder Byrne Schools 6 Nations!
